Brutus Fixit, from local breeders Messrs DS & DA Brute, Gwndwnwal Farm, Llan-talyllyn, Brecon, made 9000gns and led a solid bull trade at the British Limousin Cattle Society’s Autumn Show and Sale held at Brecon Market on Saturday 12th November.

April 2010 born, Brutus Fixit is by the Requin son Bailea Umber and is out of the Tanholm Claus daughter, Sherry Pompom.  Earlier in the day, Fixit had stood as the Supreme Champion in the pre-sale show judged by James Cooper, who runs the Tomschoice pedigree herd at, Hill Top Farm,Lane Foot Road, Dacre,North Yorkshire.  Purchaser of the Champion, and top price bull, was EH Pennie & Son for their noted Sarkley pedigree herd based at Gwern Yr Ychain,  Llandyssil, Montgomery, Powys.

The Society’s final official bull sale of the 2011 year saw 48 bulls (+ 2 on the year) sell to a healthy average of £3201, up by £656, with a clearance rate of 77% .  Five bulls in all made over 4000gns. In the female section, 35 heifers averaged £1743 with 5 cows and calves levelling at £2488.

Selling at 6600gns was the Reserve Champion Columbpark Fiasco from MR & VA Smith, Caseberry Farm, Copydown Lane, Bradninch,Exeter.  April 2010 born, Columbpark Fiasco is one of the first sons of Fleethill Clipper, a Maraiscote Volt son, to be sold at auction. Out of Columbpark Beaujolais, Fiasco had earlier this summer stood fourth at the National Limousin Show inCarlisleas well as being part of the Champion Interbreed Pair at the Royal Bath & West Show.  Purchasing Columbpark Fiasco was ME Price & Son, Gwarallt Farm, Builth Wells.

Mr DM Howells, Gelli Farm, Cymmer, Port Talbot, West Glamorgan made 5600gns when selling the May 2010 born Rhiwllech Fabregas.  This bull is a Kype Tornado son and is out of the Ronick Matador sired Nealford Tina. A full brother to Rhiwllech Euphoria who made the top price of 7,000gns at the corresponding November 2010 sale, Rhiwllech Fabregas was purchased by DMG Millichap and Partners, Hendre Owen Farm.
