Hot from the Auction Ring at United Auctions, the Limousin Spring Show & Sale has got off to a tremendous start.
Lot 508 Elrick Falcon had previously been crowned Show Champion by Judge Eric Norman, and went on to sell for 12,000gns. This March 2010 bull is by the noted sire Wilodge Vantastic out of Elrick Caroline and was brought forward by Mr M J Massie
Lot 518 Dyke Fugitive then made 11,000gns. Out of Dyke Viva and sired by Drumduff Champ.
Elrick Festival (lot 519) followed on making 5,800gns for Mr M J Massie
Mr R Dick’s Ronick Federer (lot 526) quickly made 5,000gns. Out of Ronick Ailsa this April 2010 bull was sired by Sarkley Cromwell.
Another M J Massie bull Elrick Flynn (lot 534) made 6,000gns – again a Vantastic son out of the 2003 cow Elrick Unicorn.
Moving to Class 4 Intermediates Lot 536 from Mr & Mrs J Penny Shannas Fourstar made 5,000gns.
Eric Norman’s Reserve Champion Brims Flashman (lot 540) from Messrs W & A Oag has just made 7,200gns quickly followed by another from Mr R Dick Ronick Fritz (542) who made 5,500gns.
The May 2010 Emslies Fatboyslim (549) has just made 5,000gns for Mr Harry Emslie by Procters Cavalier Fatboyslim is out of Ballymoney Simone.
Homebred Spittalton Franco (552) has just realised 7,500gns for Mr J Burnett.
Following on from their earlier success Messrs W & A Oag have just made 8,800gns for Brims Farley, by the noted sire AI Rocky out of Cragiebank Olwen .
Making their debut at an Official Limousin Sale the Stephick herd have just sold Stephick Flashi (574) for 10,500gns – another Wilodge Vantastic sired bull out of Ronick Classi, with a beef value of LM+40.
Messrs Ridley from the noted Haltcliffe Herd have just sold the July 2010 Haltcliffe Franco for 7,500gns by Cloughhead Umpire the dam of this bull is Haltcliffe Actress a Goldies Terence daughter.
In a spectacular flury of activity Messrs RM Adam & Son have just achieved the following prices:-
- Newhouse Black Frisky (579) for 15,000gns
- Newhouse Black Fullback (580) made the top price of the day so far of 16,000gns ****
- following on was Newhouse Black Freelander (581) at 8,000gns
- 5,000gns was paid for Newhouse Fugitive (586) with
- Newhouse Black Festival an embryo calf going for 7,500gns
Last of the bulls lot 602 McLarens Black Fudge has just made 6,000gns for Messrs W McLaren.
