Commenting on the day, Newark auctioneer Paul Gentry said: “It was a good sale.  Pedigree breeders picked through the cattle and there was a good commercial top end and plenty of depth.  Very genuine types, with good breeding lines behind them, milky, and with good temperament, these were good ongoing cattle”.

One of the features of the day was HR Bourn & Sons, Navarino, Louth Road, Wragby, Lincoln, who purchased sixty six lots in all for their significant arable and commercial enterprise.

The stylish in-calf heifer Bailgate Flutter made the second top price of 5500gns when selling to the Dinmore pedigree herd of Paul Dawes, Kipperknowle Farm, Dinmore Manor, Herefordshire.  Bred for shape the November 2010 born Bailgate Flutter, got by AI, is by Glenrock Ventura and is out of the Vivaldi sired Larkhill Christine.  She was sold PD’d in calf to Bailgate Gino.
