The British Limousin Cattle Society is pleased to confirm the first Basco Limousin Performance Recording results have been published following introduction of the service to the breed in April of this year.

These results update the Estimated Breeding Values (EBVs) and Breeding Values for all animals across the breed.   Results for all animals ever registered can be viewed on three levels; by individual animal, on a whole herd basis by breeder, or by inputting a desired range of EBVs.  To do this, go to www.basco.org and under ’Beef Search’ on the toolbar, select ‘Quick Search’,  ‘Breeder Search’ or ‘EBV Search’ respectively.  (Members of the Performance Recording scheme can view a range of individual reports for their herds by logging in under ‘Society Member Login’ from the same web site).

The online Performance Recording service has become well established since its introduction and the advantages it offers both pedigree and commercial buyers of Limousin stock are already making themselves evident.  Both developments are major, long-term extensions of BLCS’ core objective; delivering the benefits of breed improvement to all sectors in the supply chain.
