The members enjoyed an excellent day at the Scottish Limousin Club’s Open Day & Stockjudging event held on Sun 21st August, by kind permission of Ian and Moira Nimmo, of the Maraiscote Herd, Lanarkshire. There was a superb turnout frorm the members, enjoying a very nice summer day, we were very lucky with the weather, however I am sure more breeders would have attended, if the summer weather had been kinder to us and they were not still trying to salvage crops/harvest.

The Nimmo family put on excellent display of cattle which were greatly admired by all on the farm tour and a tremendous show of stock for the stockjudging. The Master Judge for the Stockjudging was Mr Mark Graham, Greenshields, Biggar. The Open Day was completed by a delicious Hogg Roast, Barbecue and home baking, which finished off a fantastic day at Bogside.

The Club would like to thank all involved in making the day a success, also to Carluke Young Farmers for organising the stockjudging and the sponsors, namely;  LS Smellie, UA Group, Clark and Weir.
