Semen from five Limousin bulls in all has been exported to the Czech Republic, with a separate order sent to Italy, following orders generated through the e-commerce Semenstore.co.uk
The order to Czech Republic is the first made by Semenstore to Eastern Europe and follows an enquiry through the site from the Cunkov Bull Station. Based in Bohemia in the western half of the Czech Republic, the Cunkov Bull Station has taken delivery of 120 straws of semen in total from the high profile Limousin bulls Wilodge Cerberus, Goldies Terence,Wilodge Tonka and Milbrook Tanko with the intention of breeding stock bulls based on their 230 cow herd.
Wilodge Cerberus is the 50,000gns bull purchased October 2008 by Messrs Jenkinson, Whinfell Park, Cumbria who combines exceptional shape and breeding backed by performance figures including a top 1% Beef Value of LM+44. He is a son of the prolific Wilodge Tonka, owned by Paul Dawes, Kipperknowle Farm, Dinmore Manor, Hereford, and a bull who is also part of the consignment.
Purchased for 30,000gns in 2003, Tonka has consistently been one of the best sellers on Semenstore and is also the sire of the noted 42,000gns Wilodge Vantastic.
Goldies Terence semen, from breeder Bruce Goldie, Townfoot, Mouswald, Dumfries, has already sold to export markets including Australia and Scandanavia. Terence is both easy calving (LM+5C) and has a Beef Value in the top 1% (LM+41) and has sired Champions at both Carlisle and Perth with sons selling to 20,000gns twice at auction and £26,000 privately.
Milbrook Tanko, consigned by Alan Armstrong, Lisoneil, Co Fermanagh, is a widely proven son of Mas Du Clo, and is sire of the 2009 Royal Show Male Champion, Wilodge Dublinflyer; the 2009 Royal Welsh Reserve Male Champion Cowin Carlito; as well as the16,000gns Cowin Doubleoseven.
In a further order, 5 straws of Wilodge Tonka together with 5 straws of Haltcliffe Underwriter have been delivered to pedigree Limousin breeder Vincenzo Pantalena, Ancona, Italy. Haltcliffe Underwriter is sired by the prolific Sympa and is out of the Broadmeadows Cannon daughter, Ronick Ricole. He stood Junior Champion at the 2004 Carlisle May Sale when purchased for 10,000gns by Martin Conway, Meenagorp Rd, Plumbridge, Co Tyrone who runs the Craigatoke Prefix. Haltcliffe Underwriter’s progeny to date include the 30,000gns Craigatoke Apache and the 6,000gns Millgate Dollar.
