Nealford Twister
A strong Limousin sale at Brecon on Saturday 11th October at Brecon Livestock Market, Warren Road, saw a 100% clearance rate, with the top bull reaching 6,800gns. 14 bulls sold for an average of £4755, while the cow and calf average was £4,200 and the 13 heifers sold averaged £2,577.
The April 2022 born, Nealford Twister came out on top as the highest price of the day, with a myostatin of F94L/Q204X and a beef value of LM42, he was sold by JH Neale and Son. The hammer went down at 6,800gns on this overall reserve champion, selling to K and PM Griffiths. Twister, who was awarded Young Bull of the Year at Agrifest 2023 is sired by Loosebeare Nelson and out of the homebred Nealford Owl.
Judge Dylan Thomas, Blaenffos, Pembrokeshire, of the Treweryll Limousin herd, confidently picked his champion bull, Sherry Turbo. He is out of a small herd of five cattle owned by Mr and Mrs Jones. Turbo is a naturally born calf out of Sherry Olivia, a first prize winner at the Royal Welsh Show, and he is sired by Goldies Jackpot. Turbo is a smart bull selling for 6,000gns, carrying the double F94L gene. This is an exciting new breeding bull for the BD and OE Comer family, New Moonleaze Farm.

Mr Thomas concluded the mornings showing by awarding Cowin Telynores the champion female prize, exhibited by Messrs WDD and C James for she was knocked down for 3,300gns. This heifer is out of Cowin Mxcell, an Ampertaine Foreman daughter and is sired by Cowin Pryder. Telynores is an exciting addition to the herd of S Loveless, Sunrise Farm, Uploder.
The second prize winner Ashledge Timaru was bought forward for sale by AG Kirton and Son. Sired by Maraiscote Olympus and out of Asheeledge Lydia he is a smart breeding bull, ready to excel with his new owners I and M James. Born April 2022, Tiamaru carries the F94L/Q204X gene with a beef value of LM31 and sold for 6,500gns.

Killerton Tom, a double F94L myostatin carrying bull passed through the ring with a price of 4,800gns. Sold by Mr and Mrs PW and SM Greed to G Jones. This Confluence Leyton sired bull was a fourth prize winner in the pre-sale show, is out of Killerton Lizzie and has a beef value of LM50.
