The show and sale of Limousin bulls and females took place in Brecon on Saturday 8th November 2025 with steady demand from commercial buyers. A smaller entry saw nine bulls selling to an average of £5,658, which represents an increase of £1,064 on the year.

Lot 7 Ashledge Valient 7,000gns from A G Kirton and Sons, Bewdley.

Two bulls topped the trade at 7,000gns. The first was Ashledge Valient from Messrs A G Kirton and Sons, Kinlet, Bewdley. This March 2024 born bull was a 2nd prize winner. He is sired by Claddagh McCabe and is out of the Haltcliffe Iceman daughter Ashledge Samantha. His myostatin is F94L/Q204X and he will reside with Mrs V J bull, Oaklands Farm, Somerset.

Lot 11 Dyfri Volcan 7,000gns from DG & MJ Edwards, Cilycwm, Llandovery.

Following next at 7,000gns was Dyfri Volcan from the Society President Aled Edwards, Llandovery, Carmarthenshire. This April 2024 born bull was 2nd in the class to the overall champion of the show. He is sired by the French sire Ouistiti and his dam Dyfri Hosanna is a Wilodge Cerberus daughter. This double F94L bull now heads to Colette Powell, Upper Newton Farm, Vowchurch, Hereford.

Judge Mr Terry Lewis from the Garyvaughan herd

Presale show judge was Terry Lewis from the Garyvaughan herd who farms alongside his father and brother on land ranging from 250ft to 1250ft above sea level – a true showcase of the versatility and adaptability of Limousin cattle.

The overall male championship was awarded to Mr and Mrs A Jones, Ashperton, Near Ledbury, with their Pabo Peredur son Mojo Vine. This F94L/Q204X bull was born in April 2024 and had been shown this summer.

Lot 4 Res Champion Nealford Volleyball 6,000gns from Mr J H Neale & Son, Cornwall.

The reserve champion award went the Mr J H Neale and Sons, Launceston, Cornwall, with Nealford Volleyball. Born in January 2024, he is sired by the herds stock sire Loosebeare Nelson, who has bred previous champions at Brecon, and is out of the Ampertaine Inferno daughter, Nealford Postmistress. After keen interest he caught the eye of new owners Messrs RI and ME Price, Penwingon Fawr, Brecon Powys.

Lot 18 Nealford Veteran, 6,000gns from Mr JH Neale & Son, Cornwall.

Next at 6,000gns was the Neale family again with Nealford Veteran. Born in 2024, this is one of the first sons off Huntershall Seth to be offered for sale. He was a 1st prize winner in class three and has a myostatin F94L/Q204X. He sold to new owners P W Jones, Dollasey, Knighton Powys.

At 5,5000gns was Rhiwllech Vincent from Mr D M Howells, Port Talbot, West Glamorgan He was the second youngest bull in the catalogue born in July 2024. He is sired by the Mereside Godolphin son, Petteril Ravello, and goes on to work for Davis and James, Gwenlas, Llandrindod Wells Powys.

Limousin females lined up ready for sale

Adding to the sale was a lovely show of heifers with nine finding news homes, achieving an average of £3,045.

Top price female was the champion female Cowin Vestgoch selling for 4,000gns from Messrs W D D and C James, Caerfyrddin Sir Gaerfyrdd, Carmarthenshire.  This heterozygous polled heifer is sired by Homebyres Lockett, one of the stock bulls in the Cowin herd. This quality heifer caught the eye of RW and LA Jones, Lower Argoed Farm, Carmarthenshire.
