C & E Ogg, Buchaam Farm, Strathdon, this first prize winning, June 2010-born bull, is sired by the Grahams Tycoon son, Burnbank Astar, and is out of the Paradis daughter Buchaam Annette. Buying back some of their own breeding, the purchasers were Messrs D & L Graham, Mains of Burnbank Farm, Blairdrummond, Stirling for their pedigree Burnbank Herd. The new centre record price eclipsed the previous mark of 6,800gns which was also held by the Oggs when they sold Buchaam Dazzler, another Burnbank Astar son, in 2010.
This annual multi-breed show and sale of pedigree beef bulls was held by Aberdeen & Northern Marts as part of the Royal Northern Spring Show. Trade overall was strong with averages rising £200 on the year to £4,172.
