A 22,000gns bid leads the day so far, with fierce competition for Larkhill Firmount (lot 164), a son of Haltcliffe Vermount put forward by Brian McAuley of County Antrim. The bull, which has a beef value of +30, went to the noted Ridley family of Wigton, Cumbria.
