Kieran McCrory, chairman of the Northern Ireland Limousin Cattle Club, highlighted the key role played by the Ladies in Red sale, providing a key export outlet for pedigree breeders in Northern Ireland.
He added: “I was delighted with the very encouraging prices paid at this year’s event. Local Limousin breeders need that all-important export outlet for their stock, particularly as the option of taking stock across to sales in Great Britain is not a runner at the present time.
I would like to particularly thank John Thompson and Sons for sponsoring the 2026 Ladies in Red event.”

The sale was preceded by the Ladies in Red show. Judging the classes was Smithy Limousins’ Adam Smith from Bude in Cornwall. He selected Rathkeeland Alexa, bred and exhibited by Crawford Brothers from Maguiresbridge in Co Fermanagh, as both his intermediate and overall champion: describing her as a very sweet heifer with tremendous ring presence She is a full sister to the noted cow; Rathkeeland Tendresse.

Slieve Abigail, bred and exhibited by John and Shane McGeehan, from Fivemiletown in Co Tyrone was selected as the reserve overall champion.
