At this time of the year, autumn beckons the start of the suckled calf shows and sales and it is with great anticipation that the NI Limousin Cattle Club together with long-standing sponsors, Ulster Bank Limited, announce details of their schedule for the coming weeks.

Launching Sucked Calf Show & Sale season is breeder and NI Limousin Cattle Club member Derek Hume, Randalstown with Connor McNeill from Ulster Bank

Supporting the stockmen in the region who use the Number One Beef Breed is primary to the NI Limousin Cattle Club and we look forward to seeing what young animals are brought forward to the selected venues across Northern Ireland. Each of these venues will hold a show prior to the sale where the top three animals in a young bull and heifer class will receive a ribbon and prize money.

These events attract good local support with an opportunity to showcase the Limousin breed which have proven popular in the past years with super prices achieved at all the marts in 2011.

It begins on Saturday the 6th October at two selected venues: Ballymena Mart starting with the show at 9.30am, sale 11am and Newtownhamilton Mart commencing show 10.00am, sale 11.00am.

Next date scheduled is Tuesday 9th October for another two venues: Swatragh Mart start showing at 5pm and sale 6.30pm with Hilltown Mart kicking off with their show at 6pm and sale 7pm.

Finally, Ulster Farmers Mart Co Ltd, Enniskillen is scheduled for Tuesday 16th October with their show commencing at 5.30pm and sale at 7pm.
