Millbrow George, from George and Pat Long, Mill Brow Farm, Skelwith Bridge, Ambleside, took the Supreme Championship in front of a packed ringside at the pre sale show of Limousin bulls held at Carlisle’s Borderway Market.
This February 2011 born bull had earlier won the Senior Championship in front of the judge Andrew Burnett of the noted Spittalton herd at Blairdrummond, Stirling. The Champion bull is by Ardnacrusha Uthman and is out of the Lynx sired Millbrow Opal.
Taking the Overall Reserve Championship position was the Intermediate section winner Rahoney Geoffrey from H McFarland, Tonnagh Road, Trillick, Co Tyrone. June 2011 born Rahoney Geoffrye is an embryo calf sired by the 50,000gns Wilodge Cerberus and is out of the Tanat Mostyn sired Rahoney Abigail.
In all 172 Limousin bulls are forward for the British Limousin Cattle Society’s Spring Show & Sale which commences at 10.00am tomorrow.
