Nealford Herd’s “Silver Jubilee” Open Day


Sunday 15th September 2013 will see the South West Limousin Club’s Annual General Meeting held at 11.30 am prompt at the Trethorne Leisure Farm, Kennards House, Launceston, Cornwall, PL15 8QE.


This will be followed by lunch at 12.30pm with the 2013 Herd Competition Presentation of cups, trophies and prizes kindly presented by Judge Mr Roger Hazard. Lunch will be a two-course carvery/selection of desserts (£15.00 adults; children up to 12yrs £8.50).


In the afternoon, the Nealford Herd celebrates 25 years of Limousin pedigree breeding when hosting an Open Day by kind permission of Mr & Mrs Jack Neale & Sons, Wilkie Down Farm, Werrington, Launceston. Placed Overall Champion Herd in the 2012 South West Club Herd Competition, the Neales also took the Best Young Bull, Best Young Heifer and Best Heifer Calf awards. Their 70-cow pedigree herd runs alongside 30 commercial cows and a 650-strong flock of commercial sheep, pure Berrichons and Texels. The 16,000gns Glenrock Fortune (Wilodge Vantastic x Glenrock Spangle) joined as Junior Herd Sire when purchased at Carlisle in May 2012. Other sires include the 10,500gns Haltcliffe Cyclone (Sympa x Haltcliffe Virginia) and the homebred Nealford Falcon (Objat x Nealford Amore).
