This stylish bull is by the 27,000gns Greenwell Dreamboy and is out of the Sable-sired Mynach Burgundy.  January 2012-born, and weighing in at 970kgs, Mynach Harlequin was purchased by DR Price, Garreglwyd, Llandeusant, Llangadog, Carms for their Garreglwyd pedigree herd.  Earlier in the day, the top price bull had picked up the pre-sale show Supreme Championship and Senior section titles under judge Colin Phillips who runs the noted Powerhouse Herd at The Batch, Weobley, Herefordshire.

Mynach Harlequin arrived at Brecon with a considerable show record behind him.  Amongst a number of titles, the bull had stood Junior Male Reserve at the Royal Welsh Show and was Reserve Overall and Male Champion at the Stars of the Future event which had also been held at Brecon.  The 9,000gns top price was also the 65 cow herd’s leading sale price to date at Brecon Market.

Commenting on his Champion bull, the judge Colin Phillips said: “Mynach Harlequin just ticked all the boxes for me.  He is a true-to-type Limousin, he is long, clean, has a good top and is very square over the rump.  Very correct, he had style, good locomotion, and is a bull that would do a job in either a pedigree or commercial herd.”
