The NI Limousin Cattle Club is delighted to announce upcoming Annual Stock Judging Events held for the Young Limousin Breeders of Northern Ireland (YLBNI).
The NI Limousin Cattle Club and the YLBNI welcome all young enthusiasts to come along to both these evening dates and join in to try stockjudging. The Club has arranged for more experienced members to be present at both nights to help, coach and encourage young breeders to continue the past success of Club members in national competitions.
These nights will allow the Club to select its regional teams for 2014 stockjudging events. The first of these is the YLBC National Stockjudging Competition to be held at the Royal Three Counties Show, Malvern, Worcestershire on Saturday 14th June 2014. At this event, the Northern Ireland region will be represented in junior team, senior team and individual awards against all regions in the UK. Juniors are classed as under the age of 18 and Seniors 18 and above (maximum 28 years of age) on the judging day.
The second event is to be the Anglo-Irish Stockjudging event being held at Antrim Show on Saturday 26th July where all regions of the UK including Ireland have their top three competitors battle it out in handling and stockjudging classes.
Three evenings have been organised with the first being a training evening scheduled for Wednesday 23rd April at the Trueman pedigree herd of Henry Savage & Sons, 70 Skerriff Rd, Altnamackin, Cullyhanna, Newry, BT35 0JW commencing 6pm. The second date is a qualifying evening scheduled for Saturday 26th April at the pedigree Millgate herd of Michael Loughran, 1 Mill Rd, Dungate, Dunamore, Cookstown, BT80 9NU and the final qualifying evening is scheduled for the premises of Culnagechan Pedigree Herd of Derek Hume, 44 Maghereagh Rd, Randalstown, BT41 2EQ on Saturday 10th May.
