The NI Limousin Cattle Club is delighted with the entries and support they have received for their upcoming Northern Ireland Limousin Championship to be held at Antrim Agricultural Show from 9am on Saturday 26th July within Shanes Castle Grounds, Antrim.
The event comprises of 14 different classes from calf, junior, intermediate and senior cattle which has attracted an entry of over 65 pedigree and commercial animals making it the biggest event for local Limousin breeders in the year so far. The support of local businesses has been overwhelming with sponsors Bank of Ireland, Nugent Engineering, Greenmount Stores, Thompsons Feeds Ltd, JA McClelland, NI Commerical Cattle Club, A Hyde Feeds, Ai Services Ltd, MSD and the British Limousin Cattle Society, the event boasts a prizefund of over £3,000. Showing starts at 9.00pm sharp and included in a full-day’s spectacle will be the Young Limousin Breeders’ Anglo Irish Stockjudging with teams from N Ireland, Republic of Ireland & UK Mainland competing. This is followed by an Open Evening at the Larkhill Pedigree Limousin Herd, Seven Mile Straight, Antrim kindly hosted by the McAuley Family.
