The annual ‘Limousin Day’ sale at Newark Livestock Market will be held next week on Saturday 11th April. This day has now grown into the largest sale of pedigree Limousin cattle held annually in the United Kingdom.

Following ten very successful years the 2015 ‘Limousin Day’ sale sees a mighty 312 pedigree Limousin cattle entered along with 259 Limousin sired commercial cattle. Within the pedigree offering is 73 bulls to be sold for the first time as an official British Limousin Cattle Society Collective Bull Sale.
The pedigree cattle offered also features Production Sales from the noted Brockhurst Herd of Messrs WJ & M Mash, Torrington Farm, Chesham, Buckinghamshire, and the Honesberie Herd of Mr N Hollick, Honesberie Farms, Southam, Warwickshire. There will also be a Dispersal Sale of the Poolehall Herd of Mr & Mrs N Matthews, Applecross Farm, Bridgenorth, Shropshire.
In all the 312 pedigree Limousin cattle comprise of:
73 Bulls
54 In-calf Cows with 39 calves at foot
36 In-calf Heifers
98 Maiden Heifers.
580 Straws of Pedigree Limousin Bull Semen
5 In Calf Commercial Cows
316 Commercial Store Cattle
PRE-SALE INSPECTION
The pre-sale inspection of pedigree bulls will be held on Friday 10th April between 4pm – 7pm, with a further period of inspection on Saturday 11th April between 7am – 8.30am
MARTIN IRVINE TO JUDGE THE BULLS ON SATURDAY MORNING, APRIL 11TH
On the morning of the sale, commencing at 8.30am, Martin Irvine of the noted Anside Herd, Braehead Farm, Banffs, Moray will be the man in the middle when he judges the pre-sale show of bulls.
The sale itself will commence at 11.30am.
So there is ‘something for everyone’ when all roads point to Newark Livestock Market and the 2015 ‘Limousin Day’ on Saturday April 11th!
