Rain didn’t stop play for long in the South Wales & Mid-West Limousin Cattle Breeders Club annual Stars of the Future Limousin show at the Brecon County Show on Saturday 5 August 2017. With 28 Limousin’s present and a total of seven groups in the pairs class the event, in its sixth year, turned out to be a great success. Exhibitors rallied through sunshine, rain, hail and even a thunder storm to present their cattle for judging in front of Sian Jones, Dolwen, Llamgadog.
Dylans Magners the June 2016 born heifer, out of Dylans Fanta by the noted Swarland Eddie took the Star of the Future title for Mr Gareth Morris, Llanwern, Brecon. The smart heifer had received the LBV Thomas award for the Best Exhibitor Bred Female, owned by a breeder residing in Wales at the Royal Welsh Show just a few days earlier. In what turned out to be a great day for Mr Morris she then went against the open Limousin class champion the April 2013 bull Mynach Invinceble, from Mr Grifiths, Carmathenshire, to scoop the Supreme Limousin Champion title. She then went onto take the Interbreed Beef Champion spot, and when pairing up with her stablemate the April 2016 born heifer Dylans Magical, the Interbreed Pairs Championship
