Dear Members

Following the British Limousin Council of Management’s meetings held on Monday 3rd and Tuesday 4th June, the Society is releasing this short statement to update members with regards to the ongoing matters around a number of Ballinloan animals.  As noted previously we had become aware that BCMS have withdrawn passports for various Ballinloan and other Ballinloan related animals and BCMS had sent notices to the owners of the relevant animals.  The cause appears to be errors relating to the registration of either the date of birth and/or the parentage of the animals concerned forwarded by the breeder.  A full list of these animals remains notified on the Society’s website.  The BLCS Council of Management would note that at present these animals will remain suspended from the Society’s herdbook and pending ongoing investigations.  Requests have been made to the relevant statutory bodies regarding access to DNA results and farm/animal records that may help to resolve individual animal queries and we are awaiting responses around these requests.  The Council of Management fully recognises the importance of these matters and assures members that the Society is doing as much as it can to push for and find resolution.  Further statements will be issued accordingly with updates as and when it is possible to do so.
