This is an important reminder that the forthcoming Limousin evaluation will be carried out in July for publication in early August. This will update all EBVs and Breeding Indexes for your animals. Please ensure all records for inclusion within this run are submitted to Basco (www.basco.org) by 5th July. If you have any concern about this date, please let me know.
Here is also a reminder of all the BLUP analysis dates in 2013. This is when your herd records are updated and new EBVs calculated for your animals. They are as follows:
Summer run
- Records to be submitted by Friday 5th July (as per above)
- Target date for publication of new results is Friday 26th July.
Autumn/Winter run
- Records to be submitted by Friday 25 October.
- Target date for publication of new results is Friday 15th November.
Further reminders will be issued, but please bear these dates in mind when carrying out weighings and submitting your records.
I would also like to take the opportunity to remind you to set your ‘Herd Preferences’ if you haven’t already done so. These are important if you would like a reminder of your forthcoming weigh dates to be sent to you by email and/or by text. To do this, go in to ‘My Page’ (login on www.basco.org/uk), click the ‘Herd Preferences’ button and then tick the appropriate options.
