On Wednesday the 25th of February 2026 the Multi Breed Spring show and sale of pedigree cattle took place at Thainstone Centre, ran by Aberdeen and Northern Marts. Limousins came out on top taking home the spring show overall champion bull title. Achieving an average of £8,087, up £1,962 on 2025 with a clearance rate of 94%, bulls were snapped up by a strong crowd of commercial buyers.
Top price for the day was Lot 31 Ronick Vampire, selling for 12,000gns from Mr R Dick, Stirling. Born April 2024, Vampire has double F94L myostatin and a Beef Value of LM49, which is in the top 10% for the breed. He also has 200 and 400 day growth rates in the top 10% for the breed. Vampire is sired by Ronick Laddie and out of the homebred cow Ronick Noreen, a Broadmeadows Cannon daughter. Vampire heads home with commercial buyers J and B Muir, Maud, Peterhead.

Spring show overall champion bull and Limousin champion was Lot 16 Oddies Volcano, selling for 12,000gns, presented for sale by Miss A Nelson and Mr D Scott, Laurencekirk. Volcano is a January 2024-born bull with F94L/NT821 myostatin and a Beef Value of LM39. He is sired by Goldies Orinocco and out of a Lodge Hamlet daughter, Breconside Nouie. He goes home to commercial buyers D M McCallum, Culbokie, Dingwall.

Reserve Limousin champion was Lot 22 Dunveaden Varrich selling for 10,000gns from exhibitors MR N R Barclay, Insch, Aberdeenshire. Varrich, a March 2024-born bull, is sired by Harestone Pegasus and out of Cowin Pam. He has F94L/Q204X myostatin and a Beef Value of LM38. He has 200 and 400 day growth rates in the top in the top 25% for the breed. Varrich heads South with commercial buyers B T Kitson Butchers, Yarm, North Yorkshire.

Also selling for 10,000gns was Lot 30 Muldearie VIP from A & A Morrison, Keith, Banffshire. VIP has double F94L myostatin, he was born in April 2024 and is sired by Kair Oxford and out of Muldearie Limitededition. He has a Beef Value of LM35. The hammer went down to commercial buyers W J and P D MacKenzie, Tain.
Selling for 9,800gns was Lot 36 Bencraig Vosa from Mr S.J Mitchell, Grange, Keith. Born May 2024, Vosa has F94L/NT821 myostatin and a Beef Value of LM31. He is sired by Gallery Stannis and out of the homebred cow Bencraig Posy, a Dinmore Dougie daughter. He heads home with commercial buyers R and E Chapman, Strichen, Fraserburgh.
