Blounts Dispersal Tops at 8,500gns
A bid of 8,500gns for the pedigree Limousin heifer, Blounts Dollybird, topped the recent Dispersal Sale of the Blounts Herd on behalf of Morris Farms Ltd, Blounts Farm, Allens Green, Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire. Held on Wednesday 5th May 2010 with Brightwells at Builth Wells Market, trade peaked for Blounts Dollybird, a March 2008 born heifer sired by Fenrose Neptune and out of the Ronick Hawk daughter, Blounts Ali. A prolific show winner throughout 2009, she was Breed Champion at the Kent Show and had stood second to Millington Davina (sold 28,000gns at the 2009 Red Ladies Sale) from a class of fourteen at last year’s Royal Show. Purchasers were Messrs E&N Phillips Blackmeadows, Llantilio, Abergavenny for their Gavenny prefix.

Next best at 6,400gns was stock bull, Lowgate Bruiser, a July 2006 born son of Ronick Iceman and out of the Goldies Oswald daughter, Lowgate Rosie. Bred by Ian Brown, Spalding, Lincs he was bought privately in 2008 and now heads to Mrs SE Barrett, Stoke Lacy, Hereford.
