The NI Limousin Cattle Club is looking forward to hosting the BLCS Spring Show & Sale to be held on Bank Holiday the 7th May 2012 at Ballymena Mart where a fine selection of bulls and females will be on offer.

It is practice for many in Spring to clean and tidy up their homes and it should be no different for farmers who need to restock and introduce new breeding lines to their herd. With the current trends in the beef market reporting that prime cattle prices are predicted to move steadily upwards it is a perfect time to invest these monies in buying quality Limousin stock.

This sale offers some 78 pedigree Limousin bulls and 40 pedigree Limousin females from well-known herds in the region like Fedneyhouse, Scotchtown, Rathconville, Spage, Glarryford, Erne, Culnagechan, Carmorn, Seaview, Lynderg, Trueman and many more.  They have brought forward a fine line-up of bulls processing great breeding lines from sires Wilodge Vantastic, Ampertaine Bravo, Rocky, Sympa, Fieldson Alfy, Mas Du Clo, Ulm, Carmorn Copilot, Greensons Gigolo, Tehix, Shire Milton, Haltcliffe Vermount, Rainbow Simon, Nenuphar and many more.  Females on offer have bloodlines that include Broadmeadows Cannon, Tanat Mostyn, Rossignol, Sauvignon, Ronick Hawk, Nectar, Objat, Samy, Procters Cavalier, Ronick Iceman and many more to tantalise the “taste buds” of many breeders.

The Show, kindly sponsored by Connon General Merchants Ballymena, starts at 10.00 am and is a perfect opportunity to view the animals whilst being judged by Andrew Ewing, Dumbretton Farm, Annan, Dumfries & Galloway. Andrew, originally from Omagh, Co Tyrone, moved to Scotland in 1995 and took with him the Fairywater pedigree Limousin herd. Andrew is also well-known in Limousin circles in the UK and Ireland through his livestock haulage business and has judged at many other shows including premier shows at Carlisle.  The NI Limousin Cattle Club are delighted he is coming over to act as judge at this show.
