Northern Limousin Extravaganza

 

 

 

 

 

 

There were over 50 entries for the 5th Northern Limousin Extravaganza including both pedigree and commercial cattle sired by a Limousin bull. Garrowby farms had the overall champion with a home bred bull called Garrowby Gizmo, a 13 month old by Glenrock Ventura. The female pedigree champion was Millington Gorgeous from Millington Grange Estate by Mas Du Clo, this was full sister to last year’s female champion.

In the commercial cattle section the Rice family once again had the champion animal and also the reserve. The champion was an 11month old bullock by the Limousin sire Rossignal and the reserve was a heifer by Volcano. Both of which were bred by John Richardson.

Skipton Red Sale

 

 

 

 

 

 

There were 71 animals for the sale at Skipton auction. The top price was from the Sedgewick family with the gallaber herd with home bred Gallaber Freddie which sold for 4800gns to David and Martin Wilson,Harrogate.

The Supreme champion bull was from the Copperhurst herd from Andrew Howarth, the bull Copperhurst Fuller by Chytodden Conan made 3400gns. The reserve champion belonged to James and Sarah Cooper, Tomschoice Galahad was a Sympa son and sold for 3200gns.

John and Claire Mason of the Oddacres herd had the female champion and reserve with Oddacres Figurine as the champion by Homebyres Dixon selling for 3100gns.

Great Yorkshire Show 10th – 12th July

Bull and heifer derby

All the 1st and 2nd prize winners at shows held within the North East qualify to the bull and heifer derby. These animals must be born in 2011 and must be homebred. It is to be held on Monday the 24th September at Nidderdale Show,PatelyBridge. Please call Susan Monk the secretary to book your place on 01969 650129
