United Auctions sold 927 suckled calves at their Stirling Sale on Monday 29th September 2014. Heifers (404) averaged 230.6p to a leading bid of 524.2p per kg or £2,600 for a 496kg Limousin-cross from W Stevenson, Coilavoulin which had earlier stood as Reserve Champion under Judge Eric Buchan, Glenisla. The £2,600 sale topper, which was thought to be a record price for this sale, is half-sister to the 2013 Scottish Winter Fair Champion bred by the Stevenson Family and exhibited by Wilson Peters. Purchaser was Stephen Smith, Sunnyhill Croft, Turriff.
Champion was a black 478kg Limousin bullock from Wilson Peters, Monzie Farms when selling for £1,280 to Mr D Lumgair & Sons, Letham, Forfar. Overall, 523 bullocks averaged 244.3p and sold to a top of 275.8p per kg or £1,310 for a 475kg Limousin-cross from John Robertson, Newton of Logierait.
