The annual ‘Limousin Day’ sale at Newark Livestock Market is fast approaching and will be held on Saturday 11th April.  This day has now grown into the largest sale of pedigree Limousin cattle held annually in the United Kingdom.

Following ten very successful years the 2015 ‘Limousin Day’ sale sees a mighty 312 pedigree Limousin cattle entered along with 259 Limousin sired commercial cattle.  Within the pedigree offering is 72 bulls to be sold for the first time as an official British Limousin Cattle Society Collective Bull Sale.

The pedigree cattle offered also features Production Sales from the noted Brockhurst Herd of Messrs WJ & M Mash, Torrington Farm, Chesham, Buckinghamshire, and the Honesberie Herd of Mr N Hollick, Honesberie Farms, Southam, Warwickshire.  There will also be a Dispersal Sale of the Poolehall Herd of Mr & Mrs N Matthews, Applecross Farm, Bridgenorth, Shropshire.

In all the 312 pedigree Limousin cattle comprise of:

72 Bulls

55 In-calf Cows with 39 calves at foot

37 In-calf Heifers

108 Maiden Heifers.

In addition to the pedigree cattle there are 259 Limousin-sired commercial cattle catalogued for the day.

MARTIN IRVINE TO JUDGE THE BULLS

On the morning of the sale Martin Irvine of the noted Anside Herd, Braehead Farm, Banffs, Moray will be the man in the middle when he judges the pre-sale show of bulls.
