The Dispersal Sale of in-calf Pedigree Limousins on behalf of Mr John Brown, Mendip Farm, Catcott, Bridgwater, Somerset, takes place on Saturday 10th March, at Sedgemoor Auction Centre.

The Polden Herd of Pedigree Limousins was established in the mid 1980’s with purchases from the dispersal of the Perrott herd and maiden heifers from the Cockleshell herd. From these foundation cows females have been retained sired by Marden Uledo, Oakley Emmanuel, Loosebeare Lord, Loosebeare November, Bailea Volcanic, Rosecroft Fagin and most recently Dinmore Imperial. All cows and in calf heifers are PD’d in calf to Dinmore Imperial, who has proven to be a very easy calving bull. The majority of the cows are PD’d 7 to 8 months in calf at the time of sale.

The herd has been bred for conformation over many years. Young stock bulls have readily been sold privately; steers have won at Taunton markets shows of store cattle many times, and along with heifers have always sold at the top end of prices.

This dispersal offers purchasers the opportunity to acquire hard working pedigree and purebred cows, in calf heifers and bulling heifers with a proven track record of producing excellent stock bulls and top-drawer store and finished cattle.

The cattle will be sold as part of Sedgemoor’s monthly sale of suckler cows; the catalogue will be available on their website shortly.
