The British Limousin Cattle Society on-farm production sale from the Grange Limousin Herd for GE Smith & Son, Brookfield Farm, London Road, Daventry, Northants held on Thursday 12 September 2019 realised a top price of 4,200gns. Leading the trade was the rising six-year-old French-bred bull, Indien, sired by Filou and out of Epice (by Romeo) bred by GAEC de l’Agneau Lorrain. He was purchased for 4,200gns by Patrick Greed for his Killerton Herd based at Columbjohn Farm, Rewe, Exeter. The March 2018-born bull Grange Orateur by Dolmen and out of Fanny made 3,500gns when going under the hammer to John Gowling & Sons, Spring Farm, Great Oxendon, Market Harborough.
Leading the females at 3,050gns when snapped up by RE Greaves, Castle Hill Farm, Wheatley, Oxon was the cow and calf outfit of Grange Jacinthe and her March 2019-born bull calf at foot Grange Phantom sired by Indien. Sold back in calf to Indien, Grange Jacinthe is by Gaspacho and out of the dam Fanny who was purchased at the Interlim Grand Cru Sale in 2012 as a yearling heifer.
