Club Report 2006
The year began with the AGM at Llandovry where Eirian Williams stepped down as Secretary and Jane Griffiths of the Mynach Herd took over the reins. The meeting was followed by a quiz night.
The Spring shows and sales at Brecon and Carlisle were well attended by club members.
May started the busy schedule of County and Local shows with keen competition in both the Pedigree and Commercial classes. July came with the competitions at the Royal Welsh as hot as the weather with club members again scoring well.
August bought more County shows, the Regional Suckler Herd competition , judged by Mr Eric Gethin of the Camlas Herd and won by Mr Paul Dawes of Dinmore Herd, Hereford. Our own herd competition was judged by Mr Trevor Masterson.
The Cowerford Herd visit was organised by Martin & Tina Gethin of the Ardbrack herd before their departure to Carlisle. August Bank holiday saw a bus trip to the Bradwell Estate with our annual club sale in September at Whitland with the usual brisk trade for females & hulls.
The autumn society show and sale at both Brecon & Carlisle were well attended by members with several successes. The year was rounded off with the Welsh Winter Fair at Builth Wells with competition as keen as ever.
