Congratulations to the young breeders that went down to the Devon County show where the senior team of Karl Suddes and Katrina Donaldson came 2nd and the junior team of Hannah Donaldson and Rebecca Parkinson came 3rd.
Great Yorkshire Show 10th – 12th July
Once again we will be having a stand on all three days at theYorkshireshow. All donations of cakes and biscuits would be greatly appreciated or if you could give up an hour of your time to help Phyllis and the team on the stand. All of your hard work is appreciated!

Bull and heifer derby
All the 1st and 2nd prize winners at shows held within the North East qualify to the bull and heifer derby. These animals must be born in 2011 and must be homebred. It is to be held on Monday the 24th September at Nidderdale Show,PatelyBridge. Please call Susan Monk the secretary to book your place on 01969 650129.
Herd Competition
Please find enclosed a copy of the entry form for the 2012 herd competition. This is going to be judged either the 2nd or 3rd week in August.
Young Breeders Club
The young limousine breeders club has just appointed Caroline who works in the society office to organize the young breeders club. Each area is aiming to organize events for the young breeders as well as the annual stock judging competition. It would be great for the North East to become a strong young breeders club and if gained enough members we would be able to organize more events. If your children or grandchildren or anyone you know would be interested in joining please find attached the membership form. It is open to anybody between the ages of 12 and 28. You will receive a quarterly newsletter and information on events being held by each area and also the possibility of carrying out farm swaps and visits.
Young breeder’s competition
The young breeders are holding a logo competition for the young breeders club and also a striking name for the newsletter to be sent out. Entries to Caroline Stephens at the society by 31st August.
Young People Competition
The British Cattle Breeders Club 2013 Competition for young people is to “DESIGN AND PRODUCE A MULTIMEDIA PRESENTATION TO PROMOTE THE CATTLE BREED (OR CROSSBREED) OF YOUR CHOICE FOR A CLEARLY DEFINED, PROFITABLE BEEF OR DAIRY PRODUCTION SYSTEM. For more information see the website.
